CATALUNYA GRAVEL RIDING
In the summer of 2023, I grabbed my bike, strapped my camera to my back, and set out on a 10-day ride, exploring the gravel paths of Andalusia, starting with the hills around Girona. Every day felt like a new discovery, with dusty trails leading me through endless fields, over sunlit ridges, and into quiet villages that seemed frozen in time. The warmth of the locals, the way the late afternoon light bathed the landscape, and the people I encountered along the way made every stop feel like a moment worth capturing. Some days were tough - with steep climbs, loose gravel, and scorching sun - but every challenge was rewarded with stunning views or a hidden spot that took me by surprise. I rode past ancient ruins, alongside rivers, and across vast, open plains where the silence was broken only by the hum of my tyres, seeing the scenery unfold slowly and intimately. By the time I pedalled back into Girona, I was filled with new experiences. I ended the trip at the steps of the Girona Cathedral, enjoying a cold local beer and patatas bravas as the city buzzed around me - a perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable adventure.
